Caitlan Ashlee is a 28-year-old author born and raised in sunny California. With a big, blended family of 9 siblings, she jokes that her family could easily fill a baseball lineup—making every gathering feel like a grand team event. As she grew older, Caitlan found new purpose and joy in becoming an aunt. The bond she shares with her nieces and nephews reignited her creative spark, giving her a renewed sense of purpose. She is known for dropping everything when her family is in need.

Her creative journey began in fourth grade when she placed in the top five in a local writing contest. It wasn’t until high school, however, when an inspiring English teacher showed her the true potential of her writing and suggested publication. Although she wasn’t ready for the world to read her words, the belief her teacher had in her stuck with her, her passion for writing blossomed into something she truly loved. Caitlan became a published author in 2021 under the pseudonym C.A. Francis in the genre of romance fiction.

Now, as a published children’s book author, she’s bringing her stories to life, inspired by the joyful chaos of family, the power of imagination, and the endless possibilities that come with creativity. When she’s not writing, you can find her being the life of the party with the kiddos, embracing her playful and energetic side with friends and family or recharging with a good book. Whether she’s cracking jokes or embodying her “silly” side, Caitlan believes in the power of adventure, laughter, inclusion and representation. Through her books and life, she’s proving that it’s never too late to follow your dreams and create what you love.
